She let out an involuntary breath at his gently spoken confession, her hands running up his back slowly, tentatively to rest on his shoulders. She hated herself. Hated herself for slipping up. Hated him for getting under her skin, for being able to. Hated herself more for acting like this, now. Vulnerable. Effected. Needy. Everything she hated and never wanted to be. Couldn't be if she wanted to survive.
