She groaned softly as she came to, to soothing, massaging big hands all over her body. And they felt amazing, even if they didn't help the weakness in her neglected muscles, the painful pit in her stomach. How long had she been dead, anyway?

A cough tickled her throat, and she turned her cheek to his chest as it forced itself out into the air. And she remembered then who was breathing steadily beneath her, who was touching her like it was even a little bit welcome. "Don't touch me," she murmured, injecting all the life she could into her voice.
