The time spent in the Texas branch of Primatech had not been completely without merit. He had picked up alot of important information while they ran their tests on him, not the least of it being the address of the Cheerleader.

He would have escaped sooner if that stupid girl, Eden, hadn't shot herself. Still, her presence had made his mind wander back to someone else he had known back when he was still Gabriel, a name he heard repeated threw the walls a few times:

Elle Bishop.

The facts he gathered were simple enough. She was an agent and worked at the facility in New York. Which was where he headed as soon as he got out (which took alot longer than he liked. He had almost died in there). Especially with Claire's father being an agent, he had a feeling having an agent on his side would help.

And if it didn't, well then he could finally kill the bitch, which he would do eventually either way.

Breaking into the building was surprisingly simple. A few agents tried to stop him, but he killed them, and got the information on where to find what he was looking for. Who he was looking for. She was just an ends to a means, of course. There was no other reason for him coming to get Elle.

He twisted his hand, ripping open the door for her bedroom before stalking his way inside. He could hear the alarms going off, and they were probably calling out more agents to come after him. The sooner he got out, the better.

"You won't," He conceded with a playful grin. "But it's be alot more fun to watch you try to figure it out."

Elle's smile cracked into her cheeks, her dimples showing, and she nearly twirled in front of him, walking back on her heels. She grabbed his other hand, rubbing his fingers with hers. "Do you want money?" she asked teasingly.

He intertwined his fingers with hers, laughing as he shook his head. "Nope. Try again."

Her eyes shone at his amusement, and she squeezed his hands. "How about a makeover so you're easier to look at?" She pouted playfully.

"First of all, you seem to look at me easily enough already, and second of all you're supposed to be trying to win my favor, not insult my looks," he mused with a smirk.

She giggled softly, leaning forward and pulling their clasped hands behind her back. "A makeover's not insulting, Gabriel. It's just improving on potential."

"I look good," He said confidently. "I don't need improvement."

Back when he was Gabriel, he might have allowed such a thing like a makeover, but things were different now.

"You have a crew cut," she pouted. "And your jeans are all wrong for that shirt," she admonished him, taking small steps backward to accommodate their closeness. "You could use a little work."

He rolled his eyes a little. "The crew cut is thanks to your Company, I didn't choose it. And this shirt and these jeans look fine."

She sighed a long-suffering sigh. "That's the problem with you men," she shrugged. "You're just too proud to admit it when you need help. The cut's growing in all wrong, because you haven't touched it since. And those jeans are a light wash, with a dark shirt. And they're both ugly and cheap."

"Well, I'm sorry but my appearance hasn't exactly been the top of my priorities, these days."

But at least it was step up from comb overs and sweater vests like he used to wear.

"It should be," she said seriously, mournfully. "Don't you want to look your best? Your the ugly haircut is the last thing people see. At least your girl cardigans were color coordinated." Elle nodded solemnly.

He rolled his eyes. "This really isn't the way to get information out of me, Elle."

"I'm serious," she said without a beat, stopping and reaching up to push back his messy, cropped hair with a painful grimace. She was serious, actually, even though she was playing it up a bit. His hair was awful, and it had clearly grown out, and it was just... sitting there. "You'll look so much better," she promised, and dropped her wide, pleading blue eyes to his. They were actually closer than she'd realize in her haste to examine his hair, his breath on her face, his lips right there, but Elle didn't bat an eyelash, and only implored him with her gaze.

"Well, what do you plan on doing about it?" He asked with a raised brow. "Do you know how to cut hair or something?" He couldn't really be too upset, not when she was pressed up against him like this, almost painfully close.

She grinned triumphantly and preened up at him, and perhaps kept playing with his hair a little longer. "Yes, I do," she announced, and swaying forward enough so their bodies touched.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "So then I could trust you to fix it?" If nothing else, he'd at least get her to stop complaining anymore about it.

"Uh huh," she gasped quietly, curving her hips, leaning against him as he pulled her close. "Now your part of the deal," she reminded him. Not that it mattered anymore.

He pursed his lips for a moment, as if giving his answer some thought before finally speaking. "My diagnosis is that you're different from anyone I've ever known, which is probably one of the reasons why I haven't killed you. You keep things interesting." And then his smirk spread a little. "Plus, you're really hot."

Elle smirked, one of her eyebrows raising. Typical. "I'm complex because I'm different and hot?" she clarified, cocking her head to the side and hooking her arms around his neck. "You didn't answer the question, Gabriel."

"Yes." He answered in a matter of fact tone. He liked giving her a hard time. It was fun. "And if I was able to explain it more than that, then you wouldn't be very complex, would you?"

Her eyes narrowed at his fresh answer, and Elle lifted one finger to press a hot spark against his nose. Then she spun around out of his arms. "I'm giving you a bad haircut now," she called back to him.

His nose wrinkled a little as she pulled out of his arms. He chuckled softly, following after her. "No you won't. Because you'll have to look at it if you do."

"It's going to be awful," she said matter-of-factly, ignoring his point entirely. "I'm going to shave it all off. You get what you pay for," she quipped with a careless shrug.

"Well, in that case, I won't let you touch it," He replied with a smug shrug of his shoulders. "It's that simple. Like I said, it doesn't matter much to me one way or another."
