Jul. 7th, 2009 10:37 amUnlike the other day, he had been given a little more freedom. They had switched him from the IVs to the pills, and no longer kept him strapped down on the bed, unable to move. He wondered if this was a good sign or not. It was hard to tell. But still, even getting up and moving about was a nice liberty to have back to himself. You never realize how much you enjoy doing something that simple until you're no longer able to do it.
His shirt had been replaced with a plain white t-shirt, and the doctors had given an injection of something that had healed up all the burn marks she had left on him. It was strange how they seemed determined to keep him in a healthy condition. It made him weary. Did they have some sort of plan for him? Why else would they be keeping such good care over a serial killer? It didn't make sense.
As he paced the tiny cell he was kept it his eyes occasionally flickered over to the glass. Would she come visit him again like she had implied? Not that it mattered. He was simply...curious, that's all. And if he was going to be stuck in this place, it was nice to have someone to talk to at times, even if it was her.
The only other people who came in were the doctors, and they were just doing their work. Nothing more, nothing less. Some company would be nice.

"You know," He murmured softly. "I had once promised myself that I would never fall prey to another woman after you." He smirked a little before leaning in closely, blowing against her ear before speaking.
"I guess I was right."
Which was his weird way of saying he liked her. Despite everything, despite his better judgment, she had proven her worth to him today. Maybe she wasn't such a coward after all.
And without much else thought he closed the gap between them, kissing her, softer than he had before.

Date: 2009-07-09 06:11 am (UTC)When it ended she was breathless, just like in those cheesy romantic movies she sneered at and secretly wished would happen to her, with maybe a bit more blood and gore. And it was happening to her, she thought giddily, a mischievous smirk sliding over her lips as she gazed up at him.
"I have to get rid of it," she said thickly, and moved away from his embrace, turning back only to take out the pills from her pocket and offer them up.
At this point, she didn't even care if he took them or not, as long as she could be with him.
"They're not going to kill you, you know," she said. "If they wanted to, you'd be dead already. Thugs like Jesse they just keep around to poke and prod. But you... I'd bet on my life they have plans for you."
Elle played dumb a lot. But contrary to her Dad's beliefs, she knew how The Company operated. She knew not killing Sylar immediately was odd. Hell, they'd sent her to look over him. It was very likely they had ulterior motives.
"You should know if you're going to play along for awhile longer."

Date: 2009-07-09 06:23 am (UTC)He shook his head as she held out the pills. After using his powers again...he couldn't imagine willingly repressing them once more. He could pretend he was still taking them, but it would be a comfort to himself to know they were there.
His expression darkened as she talked about The Company's plans. "I'm not going to stick around to be their pawn, Elle. I don't care if they have plans for me, because I have no intention on sticking around long enough to find them out."
He wouldn't leave today, he had given his word, and for whatever reason, he had decided to keep it. But he was only going to stay a few more days, at the most.
"So," He continued in a matter of fact tone. "You can either come with me when I leave, or stay here. The choice is yours Elle, but I'm not going to be a prisoner for much longer."

Date: 2009-07-09 06:33 am (UTC)Of course he wouldn't play the pawn, she knew. Not without a motive or an endgame. It just wasn't in his M.O., and neither was taking partners--hence her surprise at his offer.
"Really?" she blurted out, shocked. "You'd take me with you?"
Leave her daddy? The Company? The only thing she knew? Her entire miserable life, for him?
Was it even a question that she would?

But you've proven to me that you can hold you own...and with some of the more powerful people I might come against, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have backup."
It was true, he didn't like taking partners. It was much...easier being on his own, and yet he didn't have desire to retract the offer. He couldn't quite understand it himself.

Date: 2009-07-09 06:52 am (UTC)She didn't care about traveling everywhere, she wanted out of this hellhole and she could (try) to stay out of the way, real easy.
She momentarily forgot about the cooling corpse and tackled Sylar, throwing her arms around his neck and wrapping her legs around his waist. She pulled back and started muttering excitedly. "I don't know when Noah's coming back but his partner's this Haitian prick that turns off powers when he's around and it's a pain in the ass so if you want Adam's powers you should do it now. I'm the only agent here except for Eden right now--OH--you'd like her power, it's persuasion and it's a real fucker--if you ever use it on me I'll make you pay."

Date: 2009-07-09 06:58 am (UTC)"But you see," A knowing grin spread across his lips. "Once I have Adam's power, you won't be able to kill me. Sure, it'll hurt...but what was it you said before?" He paused for effect. "I'll get used to it."
He held her up for another moment or two, enjoying the closeness of her before setting back down onto the ground. "But if time's limited, I better get started now."

Date: 2009-07-09 07:07 am (UTC)She had no doubt he'd probably put two and two together there on what she had been thinking before. She just hoped he wouldn't get mad.

Date: 2009-07-09 07:24 am (UTC)She couldn't wait to see the look on Adam's smug face. Quickly, she turned back, making the way to their destination.

Date: 2009-07-09 07:31 am (UTC)Quickly enough, they arrived at Adam's cell. He didn't even wait for Elle to unlock it. Instead he twisted his hand, forcing the door open. It was so nice to be able to do that again.
Adam looked up from where he was sitting, blinking a little. "Did you break him out, Elle?" He feigned a hurt look. "You always refused when I asked you."
Sylar merely smirked, using his telekinesis to pin the man to the wall. He was practically giddy. Of all the powers, this was one he wanted the most. And now he wouldn't have to hunt down the stupid blonde cheerleader to get it. He brought his finger up and began cutting into the man's man forehead. As soon as the incision was made he flipped his fingers to pull the scalp off so it wouldn't heal back up.
What surprised him as he approached the man was that even though his head was ripped open, he was still conscious. How fascinating.

Date: 2009-07-09 03:47 pm (UTC)"Ooo," Adam mocked. "Ah, ow."
But Elle knew pain when she heard it, and his voice was fresh with it.

"I want you to shock me as hard as you can."
Might as well test how good the healing was. Once they were done, maybe he would remember to put Adam's scalp back on.

Date: 2009-07-09 04:22 pm (UTC)It was short, but it was hard, and she pulled back to watch with waiting eyes as his destroyed skin mended up.

Date: 2009-07-09 04:29 pm (UTC)He glanced down to where Adam was still on the ground, brain exposed, and he had an idea. He bent back down and motioned for Elle. "I want to try something out."

Date: 2009-07-09 04:41 pm (UTC)After all, if she was traveling with him...she could be a liability when people come after them. It was worth a shot to try.

Date: 2009-07-09 04:56 pm (UTC)She wanted it to work. For some reason, if it didn't, she was afraid Sylar would think less of her. She would certainly feel less about herself.
She tore her eyes from his and closed them, trying to concentrate, her fingers nimbly pressing into the blood-soaked brain matter. She waited for it, for that shudder of delight, but it never came.
"It's not working," she hissed out through clenched teeth, and shot her eyes open when Adam laughed quietly. She snapped, shocking his exposed brains and feeling a little invigorated as it sizzled before healing and Adam jerked on a hoarse scream. "We don't have to give you your scalp back, you know," she spat at him.

Date: 2009-07-09 05:02 pm (UTC)He placed his hand over hers to see if maybe that would accelerate the process. His dark eyes watched her carefully, waiting for any signs that it might be working or not.

Date: 2009-07-09 05:14 pm (UTC)She let out a shaky sigh and waited, thinking about the gentle warmth of his hands on hers and the steadiness of his breath--and then she felt... a tingle, but it wasn't from Adam--it was from Sylar. Like he'd shocked her a little, without the pain, but that just... wasn't... possible.
Her eyes snapped open and she looked to their hands and back at him in awe. "You just did something," she said in disbelief.

Date: 2009-07-09 05:19 pm (UTC)Which was kind of stating the obvious, but still needed to be said. How could be possibly of shocked her without killing her? It didn't make any sense.
He pulled his hand away from hers, only so he could expect it more closely. As he rubbed his fingers together, he could see small bits of static blue electricity come up.
But that didn't make any sense.

Date: 2009-07-09 05:30 pm (UTC)She couldn't help but feel a little cheated--they were hers, but if anyone in the world should have them besides her... it would be him.
"How- why?" she stuttered. "How did you do that?"

Date: 2009-07-09 05:48 pm (UTC)Like a (not so) holy palmers' kiss, she mused. "Cool."
No matter how he did it, he still did it, and she chalked it up to yet another reason why he was so extraordinary.
