Gabriel hadn't asked Elle whether it was okay if he showed up at the club again or not. He didn't ask because he knew the answer was no. But he didn't care. If other men were going to oogle what belonged to him, he was at least going to sit there and watch and make sure that nobody tried anything.

He had tried staying away for the first couple of days after spending the whole day at her apartment, but it hadn't went well. He usually ended up at another strip club, with another blonde, and it at all went to hell from there. Two more had been reported missing in the last week because of him. He was making patterns which was never a good thing. He didn't want to get caught, after all. He had been doing this for too long to start getting sloppy now.

So instead he was back to Elle's strip club for the night, sitting in the back like he used to always do. He was nursing his second glass of scotch and carefully watching the surroundings for any funny business. No one had taken Elle into any of the private rooms for the evening yet, there was at least that to be glad about.

He was wearing one of his normal after work outfits of black pants and a dark blue button down shirt, complete with his his leather jacket. Nothing special. Nothing that would grab anyone's attention.

"Sure," she said, tilting her head at him curiously with a smile. She hadn't expected to talk, really, but hey, maybe they would. As cute as he looked, waiting for her like a puppy, she was tired, and every inch of her ached. She'd rather have a hot bath, a massage, and a nap then be fucked every which way again, at least at the moment. And if he wasn't expecting it...

She drew in a readying breath and walked forward, impulsively leaning into him, stealing his warmth. "So what did you do tonight?" she asked, tilting her head up at him.

He started leading her toward her apartment, remembering where it was from the other day. Better she didn't know where he lived just yet. He needed to know he could completely trust her before he let her into his domain.

"Not much. I finished the book I was reading, and I watched the news for a while. Nothing too exciting." And it wasn't, not really. But he didn't mind that. Living a mundane lifestyle made it easier to hide his other activities.

It was a little too easy to wrap her arms around his waist as they walked, rest her heavy head on his shoulder. He was just warm and she was so tired, and he smelled nice. "Did you hear about all those missing blond strippers?" she asked conversationally, the mention of news bringing it to the forefront of her mind. "The manager told me the cops came by to warn us."

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. He didn't even skip a beat at her words. "I did hear about them, they've been all over the news lately. You better be careful then," He warned her, trying to keep a smug grin from spreading across his lips. "It would be a real shame if you got hurt."

"Or dead," she mumbled, letting her eyes slip closed for a moment as he led her down the block. "It's probably some perverted sicko who's watched American Psycho too many times."

"Or someone who's mother didn't love them enough as a child. Or too much. Maybe it's a whole Norman Bates sort of deal," He mused, not at all giving away himself. He knew better than that. The best thing to do was just to sound like the normal concerned citizen.

"Ew," she grimaced, peeking to make sure she was going to trip. Assured the crib was still a ways off, she closed her eyes again with a soft hum. "I hate that movie. Even though it's so fake it still creeps me out."

"I like Hitchcock," He said with a shrug of his shoulders as he led her toward the curb. "He really knew how to get into his audience's head, create real suspense and terror. Not like today's horror films where everything is about shock value."

"I'd rather be shocked than creeped out," she protested, peeking again to step off the sidewalk and into the street just in time. "He thought he was his mother. That's just screwed up."

"And much more interesting then the one sided, psychopathic for no reason killers that are in horror films today," He countered as he led her across the street. "It makes for a much more compelling antagonist."

"Hey, they have reasons," she grumbled, letting her eyes slip closed again. It probably wasn't prudent to walk this way, but she couldn't help it at the moment. "Just not good ones. I don't care what you say anyway, I like my slasher flicks."

"And I like my Hitchcock movies," He replied with a slight smile. He didn't actually mind slasher films, he just didn't find them as compelling, that's all. He glanced over at her again, as if debating something.

She looked exhausted, even just walking and so without giving it much thought he bent down and scooped her up into his arms. She was petite, and not very heavy, so he didn't think it'd be too much trouble carrying her the rest of the way. He was stronger than he looked.

Her eyes snapped open and she yelped in surprise, grappling to cling to his neck. "What are you doing?" she exclaimed incredulously, blushing. Even though it was obvious what he was doing--he was carrying her, but that didn't explain why.

He looked down at her as if the answer should be obvious. And it was, to him anyways. "You looked like you were going to fall asleep in the middle of the street. I couldn't allow that to happen." Besides, he kind of liked the feel of having her in his arms, pressed closed to him.

She let out a suffering sigh and kicked her legs a little, half-tempted to just shut up and rest against his chest. She was tired, but she had only been leaning against him and closing her eyes because she could. "I'm not invalid," she grumbled, glaring up at him. "And people are staring."

"We're almost there," He argued, not letting go of her as he crosses another street. He could see her apartment building from here. He liked carrying her, and only a couple of people had actually stopped and looked at them. He didn't see what the big deal was.

"You are so weird," she complained. "I'm not a baby. I can walk."

Really, it wasn't a big deal. But she was tired and grouchy and she was a whiner when it came right down to it. So she let out an aggravated growl and held on tighter anyway, letting her head loll onto his shoulder.

His mouth quirked a little at the weird comment. She had no idea. But he didn't say that. Instead he just held her closer to him. "Did it ever occur to you that maybe I just like carrying you?"

Her lips quirked up against her will, and she closed her eyes again against the closeness of his warmth. "You don't have one of those freaky baby fetishes, do you? Because if you do, we're over."

He wrinkled his nose at that, looking deeply offended. "Elle. Don't be disgusting," He chided as he approached her building, finally setting her back down on her feet so she could let them in.

She giggled softly, beaming up at his disgusted face for a moment. "Just making sure," she said, fishing her keys out to unlock the door. I'm not getting into a baby bonnet for you," she added teasingly, looking over her shoulder with an amused smirk.

"Nor would I want you to," He assured her in a deeply offended tone while stepping inside of the apartment. Really, he couldn't understand how anyone could be into something like that.

Elle didn't either, but his reaction was still hilarious, as if he was personally offended by the idea. She rolled her eyes and started up the stairs a little slowly, tiredly, her knees weak and aching.

Pole dancing wasn't as glamorous as it looked. Mostly it was a bitch.

That was probably due to the fact that he was sort of personally offended by it. That was just the way he was. He couldn't help it. But he let it drop, quietly following her inside of her apartment now.

Elle unceremoniously dropped her things on the counter with a tired groan, not bothering to look back as she tried to unzip her boots and kick them off, all the while hobbling to the fridge for a water bottle. "Want anything, Mr. Serious?" she teased lightly.
